I’m Nicole, a psychologist and teacher with over 20 years of experience working with both kids and adults. I'm also a certified Human Design specialist.
I help emotionally intelligent people move away from toxic relationships and toward happier, healthier relationships, without the stress of rigid self-help practices, or sacrificing their time and well-being.
My Journey
Once upon a time, I was constantly wracked with self-doubt, despite having multiple degrees and professional "success."
It was December 2018 and I was on a 12 hour flight from Los Angeles to Paris when it hit me: I had to break up with my entire life.
❗My boyfriend of one year had just broken up with me because he had decided to get back together with his ex-wife.
❗I was burned out and bored from working all.the.time.
❗I was sick constantly with this weird bronchitis cough that never seemed to go away.
❗I was always on some wacky diet (trying and failing again and again to lose 20 pounds).
❗And I was miserable in just about every single relationship I had, surrounded by toxic relationships on all sides--at work, with family, and with friends.
But, on the outside, I looked like I had it all--multiple degrees (I have a Ph.D. and two Master's Degrees in psychology and education), lots of friends, a close family, a six figure a year salary, and good health.
So, while wandering around Paris for two weeks on that trip, I decided to break up with the parts of my life that I could no longer stand.
When I got home, I also started going to therapy, I began revisiting what I had learned in my grad and postgrad training with an eye toward applying it to myself, and I read just about every self-help book that I thought could help me.
And in that search for answers, I realized that most of the advice out there (from the so-called experts) just wasn't for me.
Then I discovered Human Design (eventually becoming certified in Levels 1-4 of Quantum Human Design). Unlike nothing else I had explored, Human Design helped me remember who I truly was and it showed me my individual path to creating the life I truly yearned for.
I learned how to use my Human Design chart to overcome negative self-talk, cultivate self-love, and create healthier, more supportive relationships.
And then, I met my future husband, I was able to improve my dysfunctional relationships with significant family members and friends (or let them go), and I slowly transitioned into a job I loved waking up to.
I became more willing to take risks, more confident, and extremely comfortable with not being liked by everyone.
Now, I help others navigate this same journey.
